Town of Stonewall

Stonewall was founded in 1878 and officially incorporated in 1908. Stonewall was known for its major limestone production and many of its buildings today have limestone, like the former Post Office/Library and Town Hall. There are many recreation facilities in Stonewall including two hockey arenas, a 5 sheet curling rink, a soccer complex , a baseball complex. Lawn bowling green, a bowling alley and laser tag.

In the new arena there is a skateboard park that has jumps and ramps set up inside, so kids have a place to skateboard during the summer months.

Stonewall Quarry Park

Stonewall Quarry Park is an abandoned quarry that is now used as a place where people can go for walks on the trails, use the picnic facilities, camp on the campgrounds that have shower facilities, swim in the man made lake, sun tan on the sand on the beach or play baseball in the beautiful baseball fields that have washroom facilities located near them. The history of the limestone production in the quarry is documented with a museum and self guided trail. There is also a baseball park called Fines Field.
